I had an excellent experience with Clark and Sons Moving. They were flexible when I had to change my move-in date, to start. Michael and Joe were on-time, they worked well together, and they were efficient and careful. I 100% would use them again. Class act and seemed like all around great people. Thanks so much.

We had an incredible experience with Clark and Sons Moving. We had a hectic cross-country move on a quick timeline, and we needed a professional team who could load a rental truck safely and securely. The team got back to us quickly with a very reasonable quote, and after shopping around for a little, we decided to go with them and were not disappointed.

Craig, Ryan, and Ryne were all extremely professional - showed up early with all the necessary tools, very clear and communicative before and during the move, had an efficient plan for wrapping and packing. Craig even went the extra mile, offering expert guidance on how I should best drive the fully loaded box truck and checking in a few days post move to make sure everything went smoothly.

All in all, 10 out of 10 experience! Highly Recommend!

I called around and carefully considered which mover and which storage unit to use when I needed to transport select items from a single-family home to a ground floor storage unit. I relied on reviews to inform my search, so I'm leaving one myself in case this helps others who need to be mindful of the cost of their move. The bottom line was that this local move cost two to three times what I expected based on my conversations (final cost of $1500 with tips), and even though the two movers arrived right on time and were very friendly and careful with my items, I wouldn't book another move with Clark & Sons.

I planned very carefully and packed with tons of effort to make this move quick. All 31 bins (all uniform) were labeled and zip tied. Each of the 55 1.5 cubic foot book boxes was sealed very well. Things were staged right by the doors of the house, basement, and garage. Three items were at the top of the stairs on the second floor as well. Shelves were removed from bookshelves, and we really worked to try to keep costs down by making everything simple. The books and bins were very heavy, of course, but I was not moving any mattresses, couches, TVs, appliances, etc. I moved bookshelves, a lightweight standing desk, dressers, 4 twin bed frames, and some furniture pieces that required (and received) careful handling.

For reference, my items took up less than 2/3 of the length of the 26-foot box truck and fit easily into a 10x25 storage unit with an aisle left open down the middle and with items stacked no higher than about 6 feet. See photo of the truck fully loaded right before we drove to the storage unit and photo of the bins inside the storage unit.

I was told that two men could do the job and hung up with the impression that the process would take 2 to 4 hours. Even so, worst case scenario, I was prepared to pay for five hours because I had a lot of heavy items, traffic can be unpredictable, and things can always take longer than you predict.

This move took 8.5 hours which is roughly 5 hours longer than expected. (The drive part was only 20 minutes. It took 4.5 hours to load and 3.5 hours to unload.)

I provided drinks and snacks, and I tipped very generously. This entire adventure cost me $1500. Ouch! My best case scenario would have cost about $660 ish for the truck fee, three hours of time (1.5 hours to load, 20 minutes to drive, 1 hour to unload), and tips. This is a huge difference, especially given that nothing unforeseen occurred! The weather was clear and 55 ish degrees which was warm for December, and the drive took exactly as long as expected. Heavy items notwithstanding, a move this straightforward simply should not have taken this long or cost this much. The crew were friendly and careful, but the estimates/expectations set by management/ownership were totally off base.

In hindsight, it felt like there was no urgency and plenty of waiting for the leader to decide and give direction on what to do next. There was quite a bit of time between taking one load out (really just one box or one bin because that's how it was carried out piecemeal) and coming back in to get the next. I'm unclear why dollies and ramps were not used to take several boxes at a time and roll down the steps. I now wonder if this is because the company schedules only one move per day per crew and it benefits the company to take the full day. I see plenty of Yelp reviews to this effect. (Shame on me for only looking at Google reviews previously.)

If you move with Clark & Sons, they will let you know upon booking that they charge a 3% credit card fee, so have your blank check in a convenient spot on moving day to avoid that additional cost. I would have felt even further fleeced if I had to shell out an extra $40 to pay by card.

Also be aware that the owner does not take care of the "no parking" signs you'll want for the truck and will not tell you where to call or how to get those. Call the city, do the permit (free of charge), pick up at your local police precinct, and put out at least 24 hours before the move.

They deceived me and damaged 5 pieces of furniture and my TV! Don’t get overcharged and let them ruin your belongings!!
The owner gave me an estimate of $1400 dollars after taking my apartment details and ended up charging me almost $3000!!!! And damaged over 5 pieces of furniture!! Just let the pictures speak for themselves!!
I fell for the Cross thinking they were good Christians and they ended up being deceiving me and damaging my things! Worst moving company!!
