several serious issues that occurred during our scheduled movePer our quote and confirmation call from your office on Friday, March 6, 2026, we were told that four movers would arrive at our home at 9:00 AM. However, only three movers arrived, and they did not arrive until 10:18 AM. Prior to their arrival, we received a last-minute call from the movers stating they would be late because they had three other pieces of furniture to move first. After arriving at our home, the movers loaded our furniture into the box truck. Instead of proceeding directly to our new home, they took a lunch break while our belongings remained in their truck. The movers did not arrive at our new home until approximately 1:30 PM to begin unloading. At approximately 2:00 PM, while unloading our dining room pedestal table, two of the table legs were broken. While carrying that same table into the home, the movers gouged the wall.Additionally, there are now several scuffs, nicks, and gouges along the walls of our staircase that occurred during the moving process while furniture was being brought into the home. While I was writing the email, one of the movers also dropped one of our wooden shelves while unloading the truck, causing it to hit the ground with significant force.Throughout the move, the lead mover/driver repeatedly made comments that any furniture that had to be moved upstairs would cost an additional $200 per item. He also made statements implying that if there were additional scuffs or damages, the price would increase. These comments were concerning and created confusion about whether additional charges were being threatened during the moving process. We closed on this home yesterday, March 6, 2026, so the damage to both our furniture and the interior walls of our new property is extremely upsetting and unacceptable. To summarize the issues experienced today:• Movers arrived late (10:18 AM instead of the scheduled 9:00 AM arrival time)• Only three movers arrived instead of the four movers confirmed in our quote• Movers took a lunch break after loading our belongings• Our dining room pedestal table had two legs broken during unloading• The interior wall of our new home was gouged while the table was being carried inside• Several scuffs, nicks, and gouges are now present along the staircase walls• Furniture has been handled roughly, including dropping a wooden shelf• Repeated comments were made by the lead mover/driver about additional $200 charges for furniture moved upstairs and potential price increasesWe expect a prompt response outlining the next steps for addressing this matter.
I know your name is Cameron, Jamie, Brandon and Kendall were fantastic! Very professional, very courteous, very thorough in detail oriented. They took very good care of our belongings and helped us move into our new home! Highly recommend!
Jalen Jordan Cam & Keylen. We’re all so great! They weren’t sure if I was going to fit in my truck but they made it happen!! I’m so thankful and I would definitely recommend them!!
Absolutely top tier service from Rocket City Movers! Kendall (the owner) runs a tight ship and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. Cameron and Jordan showed up ready to work — respectful, professional, and hustled the entire time.
Update: We HAVE NOT been contacted. The safe fee was not an issue. Your company quoted us a flat fee. Thank you for your response though. This lets us know how to proceed.BEWARE! Hired them to move our things from Hampton Cove to a storage unit approx 2 wks in advance. They said the only thing that would change the price was our safe-they wanted to see it first. Paid $200 extra for it. They asked us to box everything up & put it in the garage so it would make things go faster & we did so. They called & confirmed the day before, said they’d be there btwn 830 & 930a. Morning of move they said it would be 930-1030 before they could get here due to truck trouble. A crew of 3 young men showed up around 1030 & got busy. My husband walked through the house & one of them was sitting in a BR floor on his phone. They ran out of cellophane wrap for the furniture so they stopped using any. About an hour in an older gentleman shows up, didn’t introduce himself & started asking us to do a review immediately- handing me his phone to scan a code. He was so insistent I had to put down what I had in my hands to take his phone. They quickly emptied out the house & got everything into the garage & yard. My husband walked outside & the older guy went & sat in his car for at least 2 hours. My husband was concerned about the way they were loading the truck & asked if all of it was going to fit & they said yes. Around 1p they realized it wasn’t going to so they got the guy out of his car & he immediately got mad saying they should have let him know sooner that it wasn’t going to fit. At 130p they stopped & said it was going to be 1.5 hrs before they got another truck. My husband went & got everybody lunch. Once they ate lunch they decided it was better for all of them to leave with the loaded truck to go get the second truck & come back. They also said they needed to fuel the first truck. Around 430p my husband called to check on them bc no one had returned or called to let us know what was going on. He said they would be there within an hr. They had not shown up so my husband called him again, no answer. Called the business line & they said a mgr would call him. He then got a text from the guy that said traffic is bad. They finally showed up at 647p & started rushing to finish. It took about 45 mins. He kept asking us how much we were paying- a flat fee or by the hr & asked if they could finish the job the next day. We reminded him we were leaving town for work the next morning. When they arrived at the storage unit, my husband said I know it’s late & I know everybody’s mad but please be careful with our things. Once they started unloading everything the first thing he noticed was the leg on our couch was damaged. Even after they were asked to be careful, they were rushing, throwing & shoving.. When they unwrapped a nightstand it was damaged. Those are the only 2 pieces he could visually see that were damaged. We have no idea the condition of what’s inside the boxes. The couch & nightstand are both part of a set. The nightstand goes to an expensive bedroom suite that is no longer in production so it cannot be replaced. During the unloading, one of the young guys got a phone call & started arguing & yelling. They finished at MIDNIGHT. They noted the 2 pieces damaged & we paid while the older guy got in the truck. The lead man for the crew was the only person who worked hard, apologized for the inconveniences and did not complain. We called on 08/31 to speak to a mgr & no one has called us back. I called on 09/02 & spoke to receptionist to ask for the owner. She stated Kendall, the office manager would call me. I said I wanted to talk to an owner & she stated “well he is the owner” & she’s passing him my info. NEVER received a phone call or instructions on how to file a claim. Shocked to find out after further research the older guy was the OWNER who did not make himself known while all of this was going on. The lack of concern that shows is disturbing. The move took place on 08/29/25. We still have not been contacted as of 09/04/25.
