5-Stars all the way! I was a nightmare client and Alex took the time to coordinate with me properly. He was incredibly communicative, both over email and phone. My move was from PA, USA to Montréal, Canada. The team that picked up my belongings packaged them so well that I cannot overstate the care it must have taken. They were timely, but thorough. Every piece of furniture that could be taken apart was- even the things I thought were fully broken down. Every leg, knob, and drawer was wrapped in multiple layers of plastic. Each corner was fully padded to protect the items. Smaller items were wrapped and combined in padded boxes. I received each piece of furniture / personal box in perfect condition. I fully impressed with this company and would recommend them to anyone coordinating a move internationally between the US/Canada.

I recently completed an international move from the LA to Paris, France. I want to highlight that Michael Steiner at Inter-Movers was a true professional throughout the process; he was responsive and dealt well with the various issues that arose during a complicated transit.

The Positives: The delivery from Rotterdam to Paris was handled by Dalmatica. Despite what felt like some stalling in the middle of the process regarding scheduling, the actual crew was courteous and professional upon arrival. Everything was delivered intact, and the count was complete.

The Challenges: Customers should be aware of two major points:

Volume Discrepancy: I had measured my inventory precisely at 100 cu ft at pickup. However, once the goods were in the company subcontractor's possession, the measurement was revised to 138 cu ft, resulting in an increase in costs. It is apparently standard in that business but unpleasant nonetheless.

Logistical Delays: My goods sat in a warehouse in the Netherlands for several weeks due to "groupage" (waiting for other shipments). I only secured a firm delivery window after an escalation and using my own tracking.

Final Verdict: The people (Michael and the delivery team) are excellent, but the company's logistical transparency and volume-estimation practices need improvement. If you use them, keep a close eye on your tracking and your cubic footage measurements.

Beware, Inter-Movers quietly, grossly overcharged me in the end!

I hired this company for my international move because they produced a competitive quote, which compared favorably to others on a $/cu-ft basis. Then, they vastly inflated the cargo volume, resulting in a huge overcharge. I raised the issue and confronted them with two independent measures of my cargo volume, one made upon pick-up, the other made upon delivery before unloading. Both measures were based on verifiable facts: truck capacity, pictures of the loaded cargo, and objective measures of the length, width, and height of the consolidated load; both were way below their claimed volume. I asked them to tell me where they disagreed with my estimates. Inter-Movers simply ignored my claims, and they never explained how they came up with their own assessment.

Cargo volume cannot be measured very precisely; therefore, I was prepared for, and ready to accept, some degree of overestimation; but this went way overboard, a true rip-off!

Bait and switch.

First you get a good quote, then here come the hidden fees.

$200 bill of lading
$380 inspection expense (and oops also that adds a month)
$200 in other fees when your stuff arrives

I asked Michael *explicitly* if there were any other charges and he said no. When my stuff arrived at port - oops! There are! And he totally just said something about fine print.

Also I basically had to beg them for updates on where my stuff was.

If you wanna be nickled and dimed to death, and also deal with surly, one-word emails while you do it, then definitely hire these guys.

And it looks more than three months to get my stuff.

I worked with InterMovers twice. Michael Stein was my moving agent at both times. He was always responsive and attentive to details. He responds very quickly to emails and calls. I never felt bad calling him at anytime during the day or even weekends! He is truly an amazing agent!

The second time is a big move from the US,Ithaca NY to Saudi Arabia. I shipped a pricy car, and a total of 100 items. Their price for a 40’ container door-port was the best among all options I found. The day of the move, Igor and the moving crew arrived on time and were careful transporting our stuff from a storage unit to their truck. They tagged all the items, kept an inventory of everything, packed loose items in a box. Intermovers are highly recommended! They made a big move so much easy!
Also, the price the quoted me initially was exactly the same!
