I highly recommend The Moving Company to anyone looking to move. Their service is outstanding and I couldnt have asked for a smoother transition from my old apartment of 23 years into my new one! I'd already researched 13 different moving companies, but after speaking to Jen and Billy, the owners, I knew these were were my people and I'd made the right decision in hiring them. They were friendly, honest and straight up about their services and pricing unlike some other companies that gave me vague estimates, "iffy" variables that might affect the total cost of the move and charged huge deposits. I learned that The Moving Company was a small business, that their team had families of their own, were eager to please and took pride in their work. Being a VB native, I was glad to know they were located nearby, as I enjoy supporting local businesses. They also kept the lines of communication open throughout the move. Billy gave me his personal cell # in case I had any concerns leading up to the agreed date. I did call him the week before the scheduled move as I was worried about the forecasted snow. He eased my anxiety immediately after telling me they were used to working in all kinds of weather and if he had to, he'd bring his own salt to clear a pathway from the apt to truck. He calmed me, told me to take a deep breath, relax and assured me that they had my back. And they really did!!When the day came and they 1st walked through my door, I felt like the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders. They went to work immediately and had my apartment cleared so fast that my head was spinning, all while taking great care of my belongings. They were upbeat, positive, organized and strong. I couldn't believe they'd already completed another moving job before mine that day and still had so much energy!Within 3 hours, in 27° weather and into the the dark, they completed the move. I was completely shock at how fast it went! This move included moving a piano, disassembling and putting back together a queen size bed and daybed, dismounting and remounting a widescreen TV and making sure it worked properly and moving all of my heavy patio belongings including large cement pots, one of which had been frozen to the patio! I was in complete awe of these men! And after all of that, they did 2 extremely kind things for me... Billy offered to take away an old eyesore of a couch that I'd been wanting to get rid of and which they'd already gone to the the trouble of moving into the new place. Even after wrapping up the job completely and being paid, I'm sure they were all looking forward to getting home to their families, but Billy and the crew drove BACK to the old apartment out of the kindness on their hearts and swept up a shattered glass gallon jug of coins that I'd dropped in the street earlier and had spread everywhere... and ALL of this in below freezing weather and in the dark!!!These people are completely awesome lifesavers who exceeded my expectations in helping me transition into my new apartment. I couldn't have asked for better people!To Billy, Jen, Jesse, Tim and Juda,I can't thank you enough for all of your hard work!!! You all went over and beyond helping me during an extremely overwhelming time in my life and made everything good again! ?? We had a great experience with The Moving Company. We moved from Hampton Roads to Northern VA, which was a 2-day job. The movers were on time, efficient, careful with our stuff, and navigated challenging aspects of our new place, such as 2 sets of narrow stairs. And the price was very reasonable! I would highly recommend. .
This was the best moving experience of my life, and my family was military, so we made quite a few moves. Billy and his team are extremely professional, they actually care about their customer and their customers needs, and they work very hard to make everything go smoothly. They were the most efficient movers I’ve ever seen in my life. They packed every square inch of that truck with our possessions and made sure that everything was packed properly. Nothing was broken or scratched, dented, lost or damaged. They were kind, respectful, and genuinely good people. I highly recommend this Moving Company to anybody who needs to move either locally or far away. We had to go to upstate New York from Virginia Beach. Everything was done on time and as promised. Know that you will be in very good hands if you choose this company. They ARE simply the best!
